Hey howdy, it’s November already; new month, new list.
There has been some movement on the list since October and expect some more shuffling before Christmas. Now that we’re on the week of Black Friday, I expect the prices to start jiggling around a little before they get their inevitable reduction for Friday (and of course Cyber Monday).
No surprise here. VX2450WM-LED has been leading the board for the better part of the year. With 1080P resolution, DVI-D and VGA connectors and LED backlight it’s deservedly sitting at the top of the list. Its price has been $189 for a good while, if it moves anywhere this week, it’ll be due to the holidays.
Newcomer in multiple senses. It’s been laying outside the top 5 list of all monitors for a long time, so it’s a new addition to the wide list. It’s also a newcomer because November is the first month I decided to let all monitor sizes at or above 21.5″. At $269.99 it’s priced where it’s supposed to be.
ViewSonic does take the value sector –which gives the bulk of sales– seriously, which is why all five monitors on the wide top 5 list are from them. The 22″ version of VX2450WM-LED for $169 is a good pick, but for $20 you get the bigger panel and don’t give up anything.
24 inches of 1080P High-Definition. Digital and Analogue ports to get the bits flowing. There is one feature that I’m missing, LED backlight. Competitively priced at $169.99, but I’d spend just a little more for the better and less power hungry VX2450WM-LED.
At $139.99 you can’t really argue with the lack of LEDs behind the substrate. The monitor gives you 1920 x 1080 resolution, DVI and VGA connectors. It’s got everything a display selling for $140 needs
